MANIFESTING

Part One: The Journey to Transformation
Robin Levy - Author of The Manifestor Effect
Let me take you on a journey—a journey that transformed my life from a whirlwind of stress to a state of calm, centered manifestation. As a massage therapist, I knew how to set the stage for relaxation: soothing music, warm sheets, and scented oils. My sessions were like a mini-retreat for my clients, and I would even slip into a meditative state while working. But my work went deeper than just relaxation. I could feel energy and often received information about my clients before they told me anything. It was as if their energy body held impressions of the world around them.
I remember one time a client came into the spa I was working at in Chelsea Piers. The massages had been back-to-back all day. As soon as I started the massage, I let her body guide me to the blocks and areas of tension. Sometimes, I just knew I had to stay on one area. Suddenly, the word "cancer" popped into my mind. At that moment, she sat up and said, "I have to change my job." I asked her what she did for a living, and she said she worked with cancer patients all day long as a radiologist. Her body had absorbed the energy around her, and it was telling me what she needed to clear.
Outside the massage room, my life was anything but tranquil. I was also a budding choreographer, trying to run a dance company on a shoestring budget. I loved every part of my art form, but to pay New York City rents, compensate dancers, and secure studio space, I was burning the candle at both ends. The chaos was taking a toll on my health, my relationships, and my ability to focus on what I truly wanted. I knew I needed a change.
It wasn't until my friend brought me to a class at a small yoga studio on 2nd Avenue that my life began to change. I'll never forget the feeling of entering the room, with incense burning, people resting on the ground, and the sound of drum beats and yoga chants calming the air. The breeze came in through an open window, and my well-oiled dancer's body was stretched in new directions. Over many weeks and months, I couldn't get enough of yoga. More than my body was changing—my outlook on the world and my reactions to the things around me shifted.
I was moving energy blocks through my body. One time, I kid you not, I broke a piece of glass after the energy coursed through my body and came out of the top of my head. A candle shattered at that very moment, and laughter filled the room. I heard a primal scream as it happened and saw visions of the future. This was powerful stuff that I could not ignore. The yoga and meditation had me operating on more levels than just physical transformation—it was mind, body, and what some call spirit. I call it the energetic body.
I believe there are several ways to explain seemingly supernatural occurrences. Manifestation at its core has a spiritual connotation, but for those who prefer logic and science, we can look at the scientific miracle of the brain. Its power to direct the many systems of our bodies is miraculous. And then maybe there is more that the brain can do beyond our internal physical universe—the human body. Maybe, just maybe, the connection can extend beyond. Our energy exists as matter with the ability to break a glass or appear in a photo. Out-of-body experiences are well documented.
I remember my fifth-grade teacher telling us about a lucid dream where she was out of her body. I believed her, traveling through our small town at night—I could almost see what she saw. The loved one that visits you in a dream—all of this made me think deeply about the potential of the human mind.
Part Two: How to Reprogram Your Brain
Embracing Neuroplasticity
Neuroplasticity is your brain’s superpower—the ability to reorganize itself by forming new neural connections. This process is vital for learning new skills, adapting to new situations, and, most importantly, manifesting your dreams. By engaging in specific exercises, you can boost your brain's neuroplasticity and create the life you desire.
The Body-Mind Connection
I learned from a young age that there are many ways to focus the mind, and it usually starts with transforming the body. This, in turn, transforms the brain. This approach is exciting because, back then, I didn't have a way to name it. On a physical level, accessing our innate power to manifest with the body-mind connection will impact our brain's chemistry through shifting our neurological pathways. We reprogram the electrical impulses with new thought patterns. My friend pointed out today that when you go into a meditative state, you are, in a sense, becoming wave energy or vibrating at a certain frequency, almost like tuning into the frequency of a radio station.
Reducing Stress for a Better Brain
Stress is the ultimate brain buzzkill. Chronic stress floods your brain with cortisol, which can stifle neuroplasticity and hinder your ability to manifest. Reducing stress is essential for keeping your brain in top shape. Here’s how self-care routines, sound healing, and yoga can help.
1. Meditation
Meditation was my first step toward reprogramming my brain. Every morning, I found a quiet spot, closed my eyes, and focused on my breath. Starting with just 10 minutes, I gradually increased the duration. This daily practice helped me quiet my mind, focus my thoughts, and create new neural pathways for positivity and calm.
2. Visualization
I started visualizing my goals in vivid detail. Every evening, I would sit or lie down, close my eyes, and imagine my dreams as if they were already achieved. Visualization creates a positive feedback loop that produces serotonin, aiding the brain’s neuroplasticity by reinforcing new neural pathways aligned with my goals.
3. Affirmations
To counter negative thoughts, I wrote down positive affirmations about myself and my aspirations. I repeated them aloud every morning and before bed. These affirmations rewired my subconscious mind, fostering a positive mindset and boosting my confidence.
4. Gratitude Journaling
Each day, I wrote down three things I was grateful for. This simple act shifted my focus from stress to positivity. Reflecting on these entries regularly helped me reinforce positive emotions and improve my brain’s ability to adapt. Journaling also allowed me to write down my goals and program my brain to see the end result, further enhancing my ability to manifest.
5. Physical Exercise
Exercise became a non-negotiable part of my routine. I engaged in yoga, qigong, gyrotonics, Pilates, martial arts, and flow exercises, along with a weekly aerobic routine and breathwork. Physical exercise not only improved my physical health but also sparked brain growth and cognitive function.
6. Learning New Skills
I challenged my brain by learning new skills. Whether it was picking up a new hobby like painting or learning a new language, these activities kept my brain flexible and ready for anything.
7. Mindfulness Practices
Mindfulness helped me stay present and reduce stress. I practiced mindful eating, walking, and breathing, paying attention to my thoughts and sensations without judgment. These practices enhanced my brain’s neuroplasticity and emotional regulation.
The Energetic Body
Once my brain was set, I began to look at all these practices through the lens of the energetic body. There’s a theory that the human body loses 21 grams at the moment of death, sometimes attributed to the departure of the soul or life force. This concept fascinated me—where does that energy go, and what is it?
When we engage in practices that move energy, like yoga and meditation, we’re tapping into this life force, aligning our energy with our intentions, and manifesting our desires. By focusing on the body-mind connection, we reprogram our brain’s electrical impulses with new thought patterns, making the process of manifestation more effective.
The brain's ability to rewire itself is truly remarkable. It's not just about forming new connections within our minds but also about how we can tap into information outside of ourselves in seemingly supernatural ways. This idea resonates deeply with my experiences and the power of the energetic body.
Incorporate these exercises into your daily routine and watch as your brain transforms into a manifesting marvel. Consistency is key—make these practices a non-negotiable part of your life, and the results will follow. Happy manifesting!
